PRGMEA facilitated the submission of applications by its member companies under the UNIDO Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility, in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan and Northumbria University (UK).
The initiative provides manufacturers with an opportunity to participate in the demonstration and deployment of innovative industrial decarbonisation technologies, including low-carbon hydrogen and other next-generation clean energy solutions.
By mobilising industry participation and supporting member companies throughout the application process, PRGMEA continues to create pathways for Pakistani manufacturers to engage in global clean technology initiatives.
This effort reinforces the Association’s commitment to accelerating industrial decarbonisation, fostering innovation, and enhancing the long-term sustainability and global competitiveness of Pakistan’s textile and apparel sector.
The Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) continues to strengthen Pakistan’s role in global apparel sustainability through its active engagement with the Apparel Impact Institute (Aii).
PRGMEA is represented on the Aii Supplier Council by Dr. Muhammad Ayyaz Uddin, ensuring that Pakistan’s garment industry contributes to international discussions on supplier-led decarbonisation, sustainable manufacturing, and climate action. Through this engagement, PRGMEA helps connect local manufacturers with emerging global sustainability frameworks and best practices.
In addition, PRGMEA has been providing technical guidance and coordinating industry outreach to support member companies in applying for the Climate Solutions Portfolio (CSP). The initiative enables manufacturers to access international climate finance opportunities and adopt advanced decarbonisation technologies, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and other energy-efficient solutions.
By facilitating industry participation in these global initiatives, PRGMEA is enhancing the investment readiness of Pakistan’s apparel sector and supporting its transition towards a more competitive, low-carbon, and sustainable manufacturing future.
PRGMEA participated as the Strategic Partner of the ECO Textile Conference 3.0 – Lahore Edition, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, development partners, and sustainability experts to discuss the future of Pakistan’s textile and apparel sector.

Pakistan has taken a significant step toward sustainable industrial transformation as the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) formally committed to establishing the country’s national chapter of the Apparel and Textile Transformation Initiative (ATTI), making Pakistan only the third nation in the world to join the global platform after Bangladesh and Turkiye.
The announcement, made during London Climate Action Week 2026, positions Pakistan alongside a growing international movement to decarbonise and modernise the global apparel and textile industry. Industry leaders, brands, manufacturers, investors, and development partners had gathered at the event to deliberate on climate finance and the long-term sustainable transformation of the sector.
The ATTI is a global manufacturer-led platform jointly established by the International Apparel Federation (IAF) and the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), designed to drive industry-wide action on sustainability, energy efficiency, and responsible manufacturing. Pakistan’s membership signals a firm commitment to aligning its garment sector with evolving international standards and buyer expectations.
The PRGMEA’s engagement with global apparel bodies is not new. The association successfully hosted the IAF World Fashion Convention in Lahore in 2019, drawing together industry leaders from across the world. Former PRGMEA Chairman Ijaz A Khokhar continues to serve as a Board Member of the IAF, underscoring Pakistan’s consistent and active role in shaping the direction of the global apparel industry.
Under the newly forged collaboration, the PRGMEA and ATTI will jointly develop a Pakistan Transformation Plan covering decarbonisation, energy efficiency, water stewardship, climate finance, resource efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing practices. The initiative is specifically structured to provide practical solutions and technical support to manufacturers, with a strong emphasis on empowering small and medium enterprises that form the backbone of Pakistan’s export-driven garment industry.
(PRGMEA) demonstrates its commitment to sustainable practices through innovative solutions like water filtration. By incorporating advanced water filtration systems, PRGMEA not only minimizes the environmental impact of its operations but also sets a precedent for eco conscious manufacturing. These filtration technologies effectively remove impurities, chemicals, and contaminants from wastewater, allowing for safe discharge or reuse.
